*In-kind service denominations may be altered slightly depending on the top three winners, the nature of their business, and the services the sponsors are able to provide.
In-kind awards include such as: tax preparation, legal advice, office space, internet access, and consultation in the areas of product design, marketing strategy, and business development
*Special-Most Viable Undergraduate Business Plan receives a $2,000 scholarship to be divided among the winning team according to the level of participation by each member.
All competition winners will have access to the area's leading professional services firms to provide strategic counsel in core growth areas for emerging companies. Awards must be redeemed within one year of the announcement of the winners of the competition.
Best Undergraduate Business Plan Award
A special award that began in 2006 is being offered to the top undergraduate Business Plan team in the competition. The award is a scholarship to be divided among the winning team according to the level of participation by each member.
New Business Builders MBA Competition Award
The Kiwanis Club of Columbus is sponsoring a competition among MBA candidates from four central Ohio universities with an annual prize of $10,000. Capital University, Franklin University, Ohio Dominican University and The Ohio State University will select one candidate from their college, either individual or team, to be in the competition. Each candidate will submit a business plan for a start up company in Central Ohio. A panel of judges consisting of three business leaders, one entrepreneur and one member of the Kiwanis Foundation will determine the winner.
